The Beat: Suit & Tie

Don't you just love it when fashion and music go together and make some awesome beats and sights? I love fashion just as much as I love music. And I am so happy Justin Timberlake has finally released some music after a very long music hiatus. What a great comeback. He teams up with Jay-Z for this song and he just released the official lyric video. I was hoping for the official music video but this will do for now.

The video was shot in black and white featuring JT in a Tom Ford suit. It was directed by Laban Pheidias and I'm liking it so far. Can't wait for the release of the official music video plus the release of his new album The 20/20 Experience.

Here's the video. Enjoy!

You're welcome!

Camouflage II

Well, what do you know? After the Fashion Essential post a couple of days ago, I found about Valentino's camouflage collection for Spring/Summer 2013.

They have everything that I want, er, I want everything in that collection. See for yourself!

Probably my favorite of the bunch. Because I can wear it in the tropics.
This jersey t-shirt features a contrasting band at the bottom and is priced at € 340,00.

Model also wears the camo sneaker. Details below.
The shoe combines suede and technical fabric and has some red rubber studs at the heel.

The collection also has jackets and other stuff but I will leave it for you to discover.
Except for this lovely tote bag in fabric/napa leather.

Take your pick and pick one for me, too! Teehee!

Fashion Essentials: Camouflage

Totally late post, but I'm seeing a whole lot of camouflage everywhere and frankly, I'm starting to like it. I own only one camo shirt from bathing ape, and its not even green but purple. But I digress, I feel the need to go on the camo wagon. Come along!

1st stop is Topman. I visited their store the other day and found a boxy jacket in camo. Very interesting shape to say the least but being skinny me, everything looks boxy. Next!

Online at sg.topman.com, I did find a lot more camo than I bargained for.
Case in point, this lovely pair of slip-on loafers calling my name.
Its the perfect mix of formal and quirk. Priced at SGD 169.

Me and my obession with gray couldn't pass out on this gray camo sweater
On sale at SGD43.

There were also some pants but I'm not yet comfortable trying on printed pants. Maybe next time.

Over at hm.com, found this pair of Hi-top sneakers with camo soles. Looks a bit bulky though.

This one seems promising, from Uniqlo's US online store.
Paired with a plain colored tee, I might actually dig this.

Another interesting camo bottom, this time from cotton on
Though I'm not too sure about the rolled up chambray/denim part.

Finally, a decent jacket in camo, from zara. On sale at 50% off, too.

Even better, is this blazer also from zara. Also on sale at 50% off.

Seriously thinking about getting this knit sweater.
The star studs is quite a nice touch.

Since I'm still on the fence aboutcommitting to a full on camo print thing.
How about accessories?
This leather belt introduces some camo without the jarring military/soldier references.

So which one should I get?

Editorial: Vogue's Storm Troupers

I have always admired Annie Leibovitz's photographs which are always lovely and poetic. She has an amazing eye for capturing the perfect moment and with the help of post production, it's even better.

This coming February 2013, Vogue US has teamed up with Annie for Storm Troupers. A fashion editorial featuring top models of today. Done with the assistance of fashion editor Tonne Goodman. The photos combine high fashion with the heroes of Hurricane Sandy which has affected New York City and its people. Here are the photos.

Lovely ladies standing on a boat.
From left, Kasia Struss is wearing a Ralph Lauren Collection
Chanel Iman dons a Vera Wang Bride and
Karlie Kloss is wearing Donna Karan New York.
Note: These models were photographed safely at the North Cove marina in Battery Park City,
under direct Coast Guard supervision.

Arizona Muse rocks them Rag & Bonewhile Liu Wen looks comfy in Alexander Wang.
On the other side, Joan Smalls poses Proenza Schouler with the National Guard’s 69th Infantry division which was very helpful in delivering food and water to victims of Hurricane Sandy and keeping a hospital running.

Standing Tall
Karlie Kloss looks even taller in Oscar de la Renta.
She is photographed with people from the Con Ed’s East River Generating Station.
The station was flooded on the first day Sandy hits NYC.
Employees were evacuated on rafts that floated on top of parked cars and came back to work the next day.
Now that's dedication.

My fave photo of the bunch.
Liu Wen looks amazing in Michael Kors while Karlie Kloss looks achingly cute in Marc Jacobs.
They are photographed with the the neonatal intensive-care unit at Bellevue and tons of babies.
(too much cuteness!)

Looking every bit a Michael Kors ad.
The Air NYPD walks the runway (helipad?!?)
with Kasia Struss in a wonderful Carolina Herrera and Karlie Kloss in Rodarte

Come walk with me, er with Chanel Iman in Narciso Rodriguez and Karlie Kloss in Diane von Furstenberg. Walking with them is FDNY. Walk on!

Thank you Vogue, Anna Wintour and Annie Leibovitz! God bless New York City!

The Woman: Beyoncé

Did someone say "Hot Momma"? Beyoncé looks amazing on the cover of GQ's February issue.

The cover
T-shirt by Nike. Panties by Agent Provocateur. Earrings and bracelet by Lorraine Schwartz.
Body chain by Manon. Necklace, her own.

Photographed by the one and only Terry Richardson, she dons half a shirt, zippered panties and questionable jewelry. I mean is that a body chain? She still looks hot though for someone who had given birth one year ago, her body is smashing. Included in the magazine is an interview by Amy Wallace (GQ correspondent). Although I don't think anyone is actually reading this part. Let's head on to the photos.
T-shirt by Topshop. Bra and panties by Agent Provocateur.

same clothes, cute little different pose

Rocking the mic in white and red.
Shirt by Gucci. Panties by Agent Provocateur. Socks by American Apparel. Glasses by Moscot. Top bracelet by Louis Vuitton. Bottom bracelets and center ring (on hand in air) by Eddie Borgo. Wide band ring by Jennifer Fisher.

Sexy in black and animal prints
Top by Azzedine Alaïa. Panties by Dolce & Gabbana. Earrings by Lorraine Schwartz. Chain and rings by Manon, Bracelets by Tom Ford. Heels by Versace

Oh! and she's been crowned #1 Hottest Woman of the 21st Century. No doubt about it. Thanks GQ!
